Problem with Y/M/D Grouping/Expansion in Pivot Table

I have searched high and low on google to find a solution, but I'm afraid the description is a little complicated, so I haven't found any relevant solutions.

I have a Workbook that tracks shipping performance by day and a Pivot Table and Chart that displays the performance against a goal. The way I prefer (and until recently displayed the info) was showing all but the most recent few months' data collapsed to the "Month" level, displaying the overall average for the month. Then the most recent 2-3 months expanded to show the individual data for each day. I only had info going back to the end of April 2018, so that's where my data starts.

The issue I've run into since my data started including more than a year's worth of information is that I can no longer expand Months individually. For any month that I have 2018 and 2019 data, both are expanded or collapsed, and I can't single out my recent months while leaving the past months collapsed to get averages.

Is there any way around this? It is very frustrating.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
