How to use Pivot to calculate Bradford factor ?

    Hi all,
    Welcome to the forum.

TMS - thank you for your advice!

I have a spreadsheet as used in my company but have no idea how to add pivot with the Bradford ( BF ) calculations in??
Report with dates beginning and the end of the disease period as old example from 2017. Like employee data for instance :

    27.12.2016 06.01.2017
    07.01.2017 12.01.2017
    13.01.2017 27.01.2017
    28.01.2017 03.02.2017
28.01.2017 03.02.2017 (change of month - line duplicated for other reason)
    04.02.2017 14.02.2017
    15.02.2017 24.02.2017

Initial pivot with minimum data required, employee data and holidays as example with attached file.
I sow Bradford calculation on other thread but not in this configuration.
The assumption is to have easy access to replace the 2017 instance data with final 2018 and 2019 (now) and next 2020 report with a larger number of data and calculate Bradford factor for every employee taking into account latest months 12 (and 24 months if possible to see the trend).
Could you please help me because I`m not expert like you?

    Hi
as not everybody is aware of what the Bradford Factor is or is willing to look it up, could you perhaps explain a bit what it's all about?
    Thanks

Re: How to use Pivot to calculate Bradford factor ?

    Hi

    I`m sorry

    The Bradford factor is calculated using the Bradford Formula S x S x D = B.

S is the total number separate absences.
D is the total number of days of absence of that individual over the same set period(normally a rolling 52 week period)
B is the Bradford Factor score.

For example, this is how 10 days absence could be shown:

    1 instance of absence with a duration of ten days (1 × 1 × 10) = 10 points
3 instances of absence; one of one, one of three and one of six days (3 × 3 × 10) = 90 points
    5 instances of absence; each of two days (5 × 5 × 10) = 250 points
    10 instances of absence; each of one day (10 × 10 × 10) = 1000 points

Example from attached file Employee 11
    12 instances of absence
    120 days
