Question How do I turn my call data into a graph?

    Hi there,

I have been collecting my call data for a while and now I'm trying to turn it into a graph but I'm unable to.

    The data I have is:

    Date Start End Length
    28.08.2019 19:01 19:39 38
    29.08.2019 10:00 10:16 16
    29.08.2019 17:30 17:55 25
The graph I'm trying to create is something like this:
    dGiAKrA.png

X axis is supposed to be date and Y axis is supposed to be the hours of the day. I'm trying to mark the hours that I was on the phone.

(Sorry for the bad quality hand drawing) (And length is not very necessary as a data for this graph)

(Also now realizing that if the time axis is very long, with 20-30 mintues lengths of call the data displayed on graph are going to be very small lines)

    Thank you for help!

Hi and welcome to the forum

Please upload a workbook or a representative cut down copy, anonymised if necessary. It is always easier to advise if we can see your request in its context.

Show a before and after situation with manually calculated results, explaining which information is data and which is results, and if it's not blindingly obvious how you have arrived at your results some explanatory notes as well.

To upload a file click the Go Advanced button at the foot of your post, look underneath the post area for the Manage Attachments section and take it from there.

Re: How do I turn my call data into a graph?

    Hi again,

Uploaded the excel file to my original message. I see that it is something closer to what I want but I see that date is duplicated on the X axis. If I had two or three calls on a single date I want them to be displayed as three lines on the graph

The dates are repeated in your sheet which makes the graph unclear, please have a look

Re: How do I turn my call data into a graph?

Thank you very much for putting your effort into this but not exactly what I'm trying to create.

Would it be somehow possible to put the time of the day on Y axis and then Mark the appropriate interval. I think the original file I uploaded is closer to what I want. The only problem I'm having on there is, if I had 3 calls on the same date, then the date is displayed 3 times on the X axis. I want 3 marks/lines for that specific date.

Wow this is exactly what I wanted! thank you very much I can keep working on this.

Can you explain how you managed to remove duplicate dates? So that in future I can do the same.

Your date was not in a date format, first format the date as I did.
Use some simple formula to convert it to Date
    28.02.2019 Use formula =Date(Right(A2,4),Mid(A2,4,2),Left(A2,2))
Copy and paste values to A2 and drag it down.
