    tree diagram of categories

    Hi,

    I have a structure of 3 catogegories for people to define what issues are in the factory.
    the first being asset which displays the list of the assets on that line. this then branches into components of that asset, and then each of those components branches into possible issues.

    so its like

    Asset Compoonent Issue

    machine1-----infeed------------>Carton Jam
    ----------->damaged part
    ----------->wrong setting

    ------outfeed ------------>Product Jam
    ------------>Breakdown

    --------assembly 1 --------->sensor wrong
    --------->machine not set correctly

    Is there an easy way to get a diagram of this without needing to type it all in manually?
    They are all tables in Access
    so there is a table with assets. there is a field called line 1, and the entries are all the assets. then a table calle dcomponents, in that table there is a field for asset listing the components, then a table called issues, with a field for each component listing the issues.

    What I am looking to create is a tree diagram for each asset that will then show the options people can make.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Alan

    .
    You can edit this project to fit your needs. This is only part of the code :

    Please Login or Register to view this content.
    You can also accomplish your goal by use of PIVOT TABLES. There are examples on the internet.

    That's awesome ,

    thank you

    All I need to do is just build a table of each one in the pattern I need and it will draw it exactly.

    Great cheers ;-)

    .
    You are welcome.

    Looking around the 'Net there are examples using a Pivot Table. That is another option.
