Creating a Top 3 list per year (Pivot Chart)

    Hi

I wonder if this is possible
My data is like this, gathered from yearly sheets in the same workbook
    Year Team Points Place
    1971 A 23 1
    1971 B 22 2
    1971 C 21 3
    1972 B 27 1
    1972 F 25 2
    1972 D 20 3
    1973 B 31 1
    1973 A 25 2
    1973 G 24 3
    .
    .
    .
    etc...
In other words, the top 3 teams in an annual competition and their points from each sheet

What I'm wondering is if it's possible to get a Pivot Chart to create something like:

    1971 1 A 23 2 B 22 3 C 21
    1972 1 B 27 2 F 25 3 D 20
    1973 1 B 31 2 A 25 3 G 24
    .
    .
    .etc.

IE A yearly list of 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams with their points

I've been able to create a Pivot Table summarising each teams top 3 placings by putting 'Place' in the columns and Team in the Rows, then reverse sorting to give a chart of the most successful teams, but struggling to work out if the above is possible.

    Thank you for any thoughts

    Welcome to the forum

Please attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Thanks for the welcome, though I have made 130 posts, so not exactly new here!

Anyway, I've added a sample sheet with a Pivot of what I've already done, and a Table showing what I'd like to try and do, not knowing if a Pivot will do it.

Perhaps the following formula based proposal will be acceptable.
    1. Number cells V1, X1 and Z1 1, 2 and 3 respectively
Note that the numbers could be hidden, by setting the font to match the fill, for aesthetic purposes.
    2. Use the following formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
