Text Data into a pie chart

I'm trying to use data (text) in a spreadsheet and I want to add up the specific data and make a pie chart by adding the various information of data in the columns.

Example: Impact Ratings (As the Column title) In the column I have High, Medium, and Low.

So if I have 5 Highs, 4 Mediums and 2 lows (Can I make this into a pie chart?) I intend to have all three in a drop down and just click on each one to suit the subject.

You can produce a small table which has the descriptions (High, Medium, Low) in one column and in the next column you can have a COUNTIF formula which will count the number of records in each category. Then you can use this summary table as the source data for your pie chart.
