Creating a single chart for 4 columns data set.

I am trying to add a chart that should summarize the all the data into one chart, doesn't matter which type. I tried adding a pivot chart to see how everything can be best captured so all the information in on one chart. But either chart is becoming to small to read or data is not generating in a meaningful way.

Basically to show total % time spent by each department and by each Group for each Job. Horizontal axis preferably be Department if possible. Not sure if I can add time spent % as secondary axis element or something?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rae

I would change the chart type to 100% stacked. I believe that tells the story and reduces your columns to make the data more readable. See the attachment. Then add the time spent as a data label, I didn't demo that because it wasn't in your data.

Thanks David. The time spent info is in column C. I can certainly add it as data label. But I still can't see column B info in the chart.

If you want to add the job code to the chart and the same job code appears in different groups it is not reasonable to try to compare them all in the same chart. At that point the visual of the data actually conflicts with itself and is doesn't really work.

ok thanks. See attached updated two sheets as an example what I did. But is it possible to add percentage and number as data labels together, i.e. (25%, 5) rather than adding multiple data bars?

For now, I had to add another value field into the pivot to be able to represent both % and #. I know both calculations are coming from different columns but if there's another way to avoid multiple bars?

Thanks again for your time and help.

    Cheers,

    Rae

When you are in the format data labels screen choose Value From Cells and tell it the range you want to display. In that range you should put all of the information you want in the label by using a formula referencing the columns and adding in whatever commas and etc. you want.

Ok thanks I will then add a separate pivot table only to reference the range for counting #.

Thank you again for your help.
