Filter pivot for "Does Not Contain" to filter out 4 Character Strings

I have a huge pivot. In my "Description" column I have thousands of entries like "5CIG", or "EFTR", of "5168". Is there a way to configure the "Does Not Contain" filter to filter out if description is only a 4 character string? I'm open to either a VBA or non VBA solution.
    I know I'm not stupid, but I suspect I'm a lot stupider than I think I am

untested: have you tried applying label filter with "not between" and both start / end values of ????

Sorry it took me so long to get back. I tried the trick of using "not between" and start/end values of ????, and it appears to work. I also tried "Contains", using ?????*. I thought 4 question marks and an asterisk would mean "5 characters or more", but that left the 4 character strings present.

thanks for showing me another way around this. I'll have to do a comparison of the data sets to determine if one solution is more right than the other. "Appears" and "Is" can be worlds apart.

As you have typed it, i.e. five ? and * , it should exclude codes <= 4 chars... 4 ? and * would still pick up 4 char codes

I went with the "between" route as I wasn't sure if you had 1, 2 & 3 char combos that you wanted to persist in the filtered view -- the between clause will only exclude 4-char values.

That's an important distinction. For this instance, I really want to get rid of anything 4 characters or less, but being able to get rid of ONLY 4 character strings can be hugely helpful. Thanks for showing me the way.
