Question Excel chart x axis value too crowded, any way to make them separated with equal length?

I am trying to create a chart(no matter line or scatter). I have two columns of data

    sieve percentage

as you can see in the picture, I am able to make x axis with sieve size and y axis with percentage, but the values of starting part 0-10 are really crowded, is there a way to make them separated? like make the points spreaded equally far from each other or at some point be customized to my own preferred lenghth?

How much is an Excel question, and how much is a generic sieve test analysis question? As a scientist and engineer, I am used to seeing sieve test analyses represented on an XY scatter, semi-log plot where the horizontal axis is presented on a logarithmic scale (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sieve_analysis#Results ). In Excel, this is done by creating a scatter chart from the data, then formatting the horizontal axis so that it is a logarithmic axis. If your intended audience is made of chemists, engineers, or others who know how to read it, a semi-log plot should be a perfectly acceptable way to present this data.

If your audience is more of a lay audience, they may have trouble reading a semi-log plot, in which case the linear plot like you show in the picture is probably the best representation. It really depends on what you are trying to communicate and who your audience will be.

Re: Excel chart x axis value too crowded, any way to make them separated with equal lengt

Hi Mr.Shorty, Thank you for your answer. Actually things are not that complicated. I just want to make the table look nicer. I need to get a chart that will show the sieve size in x axis and percentage passing on y axis. However the skill currenlt I have won't allow me to put the value(-0.58,7.98,15,48 etc) a little further from each other. As you may notice that current layout it will be hard for any audience to ready and understand. So do you have any tutorial that it will show me how to put these value in equal distance from each other but still show the sieve size value on the X axis(not 0-60, the actual value)?

If you change to a line chart then the horizontal will be categorical and equally spaced.

If you do not want to represent a value on the horizontal axis consider a column chart
