    Leader lines - keep reappearing

Hello: I'm trying to make leader lines disappear and stay that way. I have deleted them, selected "no line" in formatting and even changed the colour and/or made them transparent to "hide" them. It works for the moment, but then when I save the file and re-open it they reappear and all my formatting changes are gone. Any ideas how to make these changes "stick" after a save?

    Thanks.

Re: Leader lines - keep reappearing

The Annual Contract chart has 'Show Leader Lines' enabled.

I did not think show leader lines was available in xl2010, although I could be wrong. Has somebody used a new version to create or modify the chart?
    Cheers

It's the line that is showing up on my chart - I've attached an image to show you what I mean

Hi Andy: I keep disabling the leader lines but then when I save, close and re-open the file they reappear. I don't know how to disable them for good? Do I have to rebuild the spreadsheet in a newer version, you think? I am working in a Excel 2016 but this was originally created in an older version. Hoping I don't have to do that because it's a monstrous spreadsheet this comes from but it might end up being my only option.

One option is to split the data point that creates the bottom half of the donut into 3. Then use the first and last segment to hold the Long and Short data labels. The data labels would then not need moving and leader line would not show.
Another is to use textboxes for the labels. As the gauges will not be changing size the static position of the textboxes should not be a problem.

I should add I can replicate the issue of the Leader line property re-enabling itself when the file is reopened.
