Cell does not react to formatting

Hello,
I have a pivot table that is pulling dates from a source sheet.
The dates in the source sheet are a formula results that is returning a Friday based on the date: [=E2+5-WEEKDAY(E2,2)]. I formatted the result to be shown as a long date.

When creating a pivot chart I select that column to be shown in Rows.
The result that I see for some reason is Month where that Friday is...
I don't understand how to change that "Jan" to ANY other format (short or long date).
Thanks for your help.
UPDATE: Sample sheet is attached.
UPDATE 2: I found how to make it work - go to Analyze - Group sub menu - Ungroup.
This will ungroup dates and will allow you to play with date format.

Re: Cell does not react to formatting

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
