adding components to charts and tables

Hello, I'm struggling to add extra fields to my chart and graph.
I tried calculated fields, but they are cluttering the chart by adding averages for every date from the chart.
I just need a grand average from the entire date range to be in the table and on the chart.
    Thank you!

    Hello,

pivot charts are quite limited when it comes to niggly details like that. You may be better off to create a regular chart off the pivot data, calculate the desired average in separate cells with your own formula and add that data as a line series to a combination column/line chart.

Thanks, but every time I try to make a simple chart out of a pivot table it is converted to a pivot chart with limited functionality.
How do I "downgrade" the pivot chart to a basic chart, please?

This is a good tutorial for creating regular charts from pivot table data: https://peltiertech.com/regular-char...-pivot-tables/
