I am trying to use line shapes to create a scale on a meter for a dashboard.
When near another shape my line snaps to it. I have turned off snap to shape and snap to grid to no avail. Is there anything else I can do?

Are there no ideas to guide me on my way? I have discovered that it is only lines that don't obey the don't snap to shape command.
John
I can't reproduce that at all. Can you post a workbook that shows that?
I have copied a trial version for you. A difficult line is the blue one on the left hand 60%. Generally if there is a shape point near then one end of the line will grab it. The defining points of the arc shape are mostly at the ends so a lot of the scale marks were easy to position, but not the end ones.
John
I still can't replicate that. I can put that blue line anywhere at all with no problems. What build of 2010 do you have?
Try using a freeform shape rather than a connector.
It's not snapping to grid but it is snapping to connection points and turning if off has no effect.
Andy,
I am using an arc and a line. Are you saying that if I drew the arc freehand (if I can) then I would not have the problem?
John
Start by drawing the line using freeform and test whether snapping still occurs.
Same problem for me. It keeps snapping. I am using rectangles and lines. I don't want to draw any freeform. Yet, it keeps snapping the line to the 1/2 point on the side of the rectangle or the corner.
