Smile How to align chart axis to certain values in chart

    Hi!

I was wondering if it were possible to align multiple axis in an excel chart to certain values.

    Here is my chart:
    excel chart.PNG

My left y-axis is %, while the right y-axis shows a value in grams.

What we want to focus on is the Light Blue shaded area. This is connected to the right y-axis measured in grams.

Is it possible to align the top of this Light Blue area, regardless of the value, with the 100% on the left y-axis?

In all of the charts we have like this, the max value of Light Blue area usually falls between 80-110% so I'm just not sure if there is a way to do this.

Please let me know if there is any more info needed!

    Thanks!!!

Short but useless answer -- yes this is possible. However, it is not a built in option hidden somewhere in the formatting dialogs. It is something you have to build.

Assuming that the left axis and right axis are directly related, then I would probably use this "proportional axes" approach, where you plot everything on one axis, then us a "dummy series" to fake the second axis: https://peltiertech.com/secondary-ax...tional-scales/

Using Excel's built in axes, you would need to format one or both axes to have the appropriate min/max/major/minor unit values. If you can calculate these values in the spreadsheet, you could then use a VBA event procedure that applies those limits to each axis https://peltiertech.com/link-excel-c...lues-in-cells/

I would generally prefer the first approach.
