Creating a letter graph

I don't see any way to do this without somehow assigning appropriate numbers to the letters (using a helper range with a lookup formula), using those values to construct a bar chart/dot plot (or equivalent), and finally using a dummy series/axis to add the text/letter labels along the horizontal axis.

ETA: I note that your profile says you are still using Excel 2010. It may be important for a question like this for us to know if you are still using 2010 or if you have upgraded to a newer version.
