A pivot table showing, by month, number of projects that came in and went out

    Hi there.

I'd like to report on when projects come in and when they go out.

I've attached an example spreadsheet with the Project Number, Date In, and Date out, as columns.

I'd like to produce a table showing month in the first column, how many projects came in that month in the second column, and how many projects went out that month in column 3.

Currently I can't get the pivot table to display the data I want in column 3.

Thank you very much if anyone can help.

    Kind regards.

Hi Richard - thanks a lot for your assistance. That looks much more advanced than I'm capable of but it's not what I was picturing...

I've manually created a table I was hoping to create with pivots - and formatted it in Orange -= as you can see, the 2nd column is displaying the same as the original pivot I had a stab at, but it's the 3rd column - where I want the total number of projects out each month to display - that I'm having problems with.

    Hi,

You can achieve that if you lay out your PT data slightly differently
