Pie of Pie of only unresolved cases

In 1 pie chart i want to see how many cases are Resolved vs Unresolved. In the 2nd pie (same chart), i want it to create a pie of the unresolved cases and show the buckets of how many days they have been open.

I have attached the sample data set and tried to draw what i expect. In the drawn pie chart i want to see that of the unresolved cases, 3 are in the "Less than 5 days" range, then 1 in the "5-10 days range" m 10 in the "10-20 days days" range, then 3 in the "20+ days" range.

    Any assistance would be helpful.

    Hi Exceling,

If you want the Pie in Pie chart style you need to click on your second chart and then the Insert Tab. At the bottom right of the Charts Icon group is a small "expand" box with an arrow in it. Click on this...
A "Change Chart Type" dialog will apperr. Click on the Pie and then above the Pie of Pie that you want.

If you've already done this, you are way ahead of me and I'm no help. If you don't get that selection above it could be that you don't have enough labels in your pivot. You may need to pull some other column down into the pivot.

I hope you get a better answer than mine.

Reorder the table, collapse the Resolved section.
Change chart to pie of pie.
Use the position options to move the unresolved items into second pie

Thank Andy, what do you mean by "Use the Position options"?

If you select pie and format the chart you have the following options about the pie and sub pie elements.

Thank you Andy. I was able to locate that option. Also in your first reply, in your attachment, do you know why it changed the label from "Unresolved" to "Other"? How can we change that back. If we do this, then i can remove the legend and have a clean visual.

That's the default text used in a pie of pie chart.

You can manually edit the data label, if you need to although it will not be able to display value AND edited text
