Question Scatter chart: formulaic rather than based on a full table, is it possible?

Hello, I am having to plot many scatter charts of activity against log time, which is OK. In the interest of saving space, I was wondering whether it would be possible if instead of making a table with all the data points, I could find a form in which I can plug in the formula I would use for the table. If not, I have to do something else in order to keep the data neat.
    Thanks.
Admittedly, I did not go back far in this forum's history to get an answer, so my apologies if you answered this more than about eightteen months ago.

Short but useless answer -- yes this is possible. Question for you -- why?

Spreadsheets and their chart engines are designed to work with cells and ranges in the sheet(s). By far, the easiest way to graph an equation in a spreadsheet chart is to enter/compute the desired values in a block of cells in the spreadsheet and then build the chart from those cells. An Excel sheet has 1E6 rows and 16E3 columns -- and you can have as many sheets in your workbook as you have memory -- I am not sure what reasons one would have for "saving space in a spreadsheet." If it is a matter of not wanting to look at the data, rows and columns and sheets can be hidden so that you don't have to look at them, if desired.

If you decide that you really don't want to use cells for your chart data, there's a technique out there:
    https://jkp-ads.com/Articles/ChartAnEquation00.htm
An add-in that manages the process for you: http://tushar-mehta.com/excel/softwa...ger/index.html

At this point, I would say that it is about understanding why you want to avoid using cells to contain the chart data, and then balance that against the added difficulty of these other techniques. After doing the "cost/benefit analysis", decide which approach you would prefer to use.

Those are some good considerations. Thanks for your thorough reply.
