    Stuck, Stacked Clustered Column Chart

This is very simple, but I can't figure it out. All that I am wanting to do is have one column that shows both the value of the estimate and the value of actual. What the chart is doing is showing me a % of the total which is what I don't want, nor care. I have tried to figure out by watching videos etc, but can't figure out how to make a chart that only has 2 values of estimated and actual in one single column chart.

    Thanks,

Re: Stuck, Stacked Clustered Column Chart

I don't see in the example file what you are describing.

You have stacked column charts, where the Estimated hours are stacked on top of Actual hours. There is no % data being shown or used.

Are you wanting a chart where you can more easily compare actual to estimate? If so try changing the chart to cluster column rather than stacked.
If not perhaps mention the chart type the videos you watched where trying to create, or provide a link so we can see.
    Cheers

    Andy,
All the charts in the file are the examples. If you look at the first one the Estimated amount is 49,625, but the chart is showing going up to 80,000 because it's adding the estimated amount of 49,625 and the actual amount of 31,194. I was hoping to have a chart that maxed out at lets say 50,000 because the estimate is below this and then the column inside of the other column would show the actual amount of 31,194 and would grow as the actual amount keeps going up. In all of the charts they are adding the estimated and the actual and just displaying how much that amount is in relation to the total of the two.

Re: Stuck, Stacked Clustered Column Chart

Confused by you request to have 1 column, which is what you had.

    Change chart to cluster column
Select Actual series and move to secondary axis
    Delete secondary axis
Set primary vertical axis to auto
select Estimate series and reduce gap width

You should now have red column infront of wider blue column.

Position data labels so you can easily tell with is which.

    See first chart in attached
