Line chart with 2 lines- do not get the desired result

    Line chart with 2 lines- do not get the desired result

    I created a line chart with 2 lines. It is for a month plus at the very beginning is a value of different source.

    The cell values represent days 1 thru 31 plus the very first cell is called 3920 and has a dollar value. I cannot get that to display.

    The chart data is: ="Fidelity Gain/Loss"
    =Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36

    ="Fidelity Cutoff"
    =Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37

    first next
    The first cell of a different source is: 3920 1 Then the remaining cells to 31. all cell values are formated Number 0 decimal and the next 2 rows are Currency 0 decimal $11,734 $0
    $8,214 $8,214

    3920 stands for Mar 9, 2020

    The chart shows the special cell value in position 1 that data should be for day 1.

    This is a sample chart and dos not contain real customer data

    Use the select data dialog to set the range for category labels, =Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35

    This will give the first category the label 3920.

    That did give me a value of 3920 on the chart but I want 3920 as a value in the bottom cell names. Exp. 3920, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 etc to 31
    I expect the value on the chart to be $11,734 Exp. $11,734,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,$9,177 etc to end 31

    This message was too short so this is just to fix that.

    I do not see a difference between my data series values and yours. what else if anything did you do as this is exactly what I wanted

    i have a table with Name, High, Low and Last Price. I want a bar on my dashboard which visually shows a line color bar between High & Low values and a marker on the Last Price that would be a point between High & Low. Please help

    @way2020,

    As I said in my first post you needed to change the ranges being referenced by the series.
    The category labels where either not specified or excluded the initial data point

    Thank You again for solving my problem when I checked my original data in "Select Data Source" it is as follows: ="Fidelity Gain/Loss"
    =Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36
    ="Fidelity Cutoff"
    =Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37

    This seems to be exactly what you gave me. I assume you did something else and I would like to know what, as I have another chart for yearly data and have a similar problem.

    =SERIES("Fidelity Gain/Loss",Sheet1!$C$35:$N$35,Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36,1)
    =SERIES("Fidelity Cutoff",,Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37,2)

    This is the revised series formula in the corrected example I provided.
    =SERIES("Fidelity Gain/Loss",Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35,Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36,1)
    =SERIES("Fidelity Cutoff",Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35,Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37,2)

    As you can see there is a big difference in the ranges included and covered.

    Andy again Thank You for taking the time to work with me.

    I am confused as to the Data Series so I downloaded your example and manually clicked on the chart and clicked on "Select Data" and this is what is displayed:
    ="Fidelity Gain/Loss" =Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36
    ="Fidelity Cutoff" - =Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37

    This is not similar to what you had for these series from above:
    {This is the revised series formula in the corrected example I provided.
    =SERIES("Fidelity Gain/Loss",Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35,Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36,1)
    =SERIES("Fidelity Cutoff",Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35,Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37,2)}

    Using these SERIES by manually entering the data it does not display correctly.

    Maybe you set the SERIES by a different method than mine which is manual.

    I am including the new chart that I have problems with.

    Select the series and the series formula will be displayed in the formula bar.

    I dowloaded my example file and still get these.
    =SERIES("Fidelity Gain/Loss",Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35,Sheet1!$B$36:$AG$36,1)
    =SERIES("Fidelity Cutoff",Sheet1!$B$35:$AG$35,Sheet1!$B$37:$AG$37,2)

    Using your latest example file, post #13, use get the following

    =SERIES("Fidelity Gain/Loss",Sheet1!$B$30:$AF$30,Sheet1!$B$33:$P$33,1)
    =SERIES("Fidelity Cutoff",Sheet1!$B$30:$AF$30,Sheet1!$B$34:$P$34,2)

    were as they should be,
    =SERIES("Fidelity Gain/Loss",Sheet1!$B$32:$P$32,Sheet1!$B$33:$P$33,1)
    =SERIES("Fidelity Cutoff",Sheet1!$B$32:$P$32,Sheet1!$B$34:$P$34,2)

    I'm simply using the Select data to select the correct range, both value and category data.
