Re: What statistical analysis is best suited for my dataset?

I'm not sure that any of our regular contributors are expert enough in statistics to recommend a specific statistical test.

We are good at Excel, but not always as good at the specific field being explored. I expect that, if you help us understand the desired statistical test, we will be able to help you program that test in the spreadsheet.

Recognizing that your data is categorical, a quick internet search found this Wikipedia page with a long list of analyses for categorical data: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...tegorical_data Of these tests, I recognize the Chi-squared (sometimes called Pearson's Chi-squared) test and some of the multinomial distribution tests -- probably because these are often where introductory statistics students will start in analyzing categorical data (not necessarily because these are the best analyses for any one data set). If, as a beginner to statistical analysis, you have no idea where to begin, I would probably recommend starting with those.

Whatever analysis you decide to apply, I expect that most of them will want to start with some kind of frequency count for each category. In Excel/other spreadsheets, this will probably be a COUNTIFS() function: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...tegorical_data
