Re: Plotting trendline while excluding missing values - new question

This is a follow-up question to a solved post

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-cha...ml#post5339489

    a. the two x points (cells M10 and M11) are just random points or they have any meaning?
    b. I see that the new blue trendline is generated from data that you have in range M10:N11. I can not figure out how you added the new trendline to the graph (the graph is a combination of stacked and a line. probably something simple, but I can not figure it out). please clarify
and thanks in advnce for you help!

    cheers

Re: Plotting trendline while excluding missing values - new question

as for point a) - it has been explained in post#2 of original thread:
now you can calculate 2 points laying on the regression line. for instance for x1 = -0.5 and x2=21.5 (these are x coordinates of left and right edges of the plot)
Why not 0 and 21 - note 0 is the center of first column, 21 is the center of the last one. so the left edge is half left of 0 and right half right from 21.

Point b) - the line is just added as a new series. This is also clearly described in my answer (post #2 of previous thread):
Now you add new series to the plot. make sure this series is scatterplot type plotted on secondary axis. You select this secondary axis on the drawning and delete it.
(corrected typo in this (was thuis).

Re: Plotting trendline while excluding missing values - new question

    Hello
Many thanks for your answer. I still didn't manage to solve the 2nd axis. for some reason Excel does not allow me to add another axis as a xy scatter....
If you have any idea- pls let me know. Otherwise, I will mark it as solve tomorrow.
I wish you a good weekend

Re: Plotting trendline while excluding missing values - new question

See a step by step instruction to add second "calculated regression line" in columns Q (description) and next (screenshots)
it uses data from calculations in column O.
If something is not clear return also to original description in original thread - it is quite detailed as I can see.
