Waterfall chart tile linking to cell value

For the VBA alternative...

try below changing the "chart 1" to the chart name and Sales to the title you want

Use a cell that holds chart title text
Then select the chart title and in the formula bar enter =, then select the cell with the title and hit Enter

Unfortunately the new waterfall chart type does not support the formula link. Either done manually or with code.

Manual or VBA alteration of text is all that is allowed.

Since it seems you have an Excel version > 2007 it would be a good idea to update the information in your MS Office version profile.

You could put a textbox over the top of the real chart title, and link that to the cell.

I forgot to mention that since it's what I generally do if a dynamic title is necessary.

The new chart types (waterfall/sunburst/treemap/funnel/Histogram) all use a new chart engine.
Formatting and VBA manipulation is limited.

I would normally embed a shape within the chart object and link that, but even this is not possible
