Conditional Formatting within Pivot Table by Category

    Hi All

I would like to know if it is possible to format a pivot table by category?

I have a table which has data for Hours worked, and it is broken down by Paid and Unpaid with a number of different elements possible under each "Heading".

I would like to use conditional formatting to make anything under the Heading "Paid" Green, and anything under the heading "unpaid" Orange.
I have only been able to get the actual Heading Word to change, not any data that falls within that category.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Grimace,

If you can make your Unpaid values negative numbers it would be easy.
Can you create a calculated item that turns those unpaid to negatives?
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

    Hi MarvinP

The data is brought in from an external source, so I would much prefer to work with what I have than to create a process requiring manual steps in between.
The Data also contributes to overall worked time calculations, so converting it to a negative will not work.

    Warm regards
    Darren.

    Hey Grimace,

What if you change the design of the Pivot Table to Outline or Tab (not compact) and repeat the Labels. That way the word of Paid or Unpaid will show all the way down column B. Use CF on that column. Does that get you closer?
