when sorting data in table the graph shows the wrong data

    Hi,

I would like to make a chart that displays the processing time of certain requests. The graph is conected to a table that contains the data.
The problem that i encounter is that if i sort the table in a differnt manner, the reuqest numbers in the grpah do not correspond to the right processing time. How can i solve this problem so that the graph displays the right processing time for each request number?

    Any input is much appreciated!

I don't see the problem, if you sort the data. I get the result as I should expect it.

See the attached file and show your problem manualy in that file and post it again.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Thank you for your pivot table - graph. I used a standard graph (scatter plot, which is not possible for a pivot table graph in my excel) instead of a pivot table graph. This solves the problem.

Re: when sorting data in table the graph shows the wrong data

The issue with your original chart is that the x values are based on text rather than numeric values.
So which ever way you sort the table the x values will always be 1 to 5 in record order.

If you add a column to the table that holds the X value as a number the sorting will not affect the chart
    Cheers
