Pivot Tables on the Sheet named Reports won't work.
Source Data is on the Sheet named Exercises.
At first I can't choose Category Filter. (Reports!F1) (Source Data Exercises!C:C)
Why doesn't It work? How can I fix it?

Although you may only want the two guitar exercises to display in the pivot table it will still need enough rows to allow for the All category to be selected.
To fix it, at least for the file attached to post #1:
1. Select cell A6 and press the Shift and Space Bar keys
2. Press Ctrl, Shift and the + keys until the filters for the next row of pivot tables is moved to at least row 13
3. Select a cell in the Guitar pivot table and select Pivot table tools > Analyze > Change source data
4. Type Table3 into the Table/Range window and then press OK

Isn't All category selected? How can you tell that?
2. Nothing happens when I do this. ???
4. When I type "Table3" I get this error "A PivotTable report cannot overlap another PivotTable report.)
Here is the file with the steps from post #2 applied.

I had already created these pivot tables from scratch.
But I don't understand why they go in this way and how can I fix them.
What does the step 2? Maybe I should do it manually rather than a keyboard shortcut.
Step #2 is adding more rows between pivot tables so that "All" categories will fit.
You could select any cell in row 6 and then use the mouse to select Insert and then Insert Sheet Rows and continue selecting until the Category cell in the Songwriting pivot table is on row 13.

How could you tell "All" categories doesn't fit?
I don't understand what "All" categories will fit mean. ?
It means that if the drop down in cell F1 is chosen and every item (All) is displayed the pivot table will occupy 11 rows.
After selecting just the items that you want displayed you could Group the rows below the pivot table to hide empty rows as is modeled in the attached file.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you very much for the answers JeteMC.
