Red face Create Pie Chart - 50 Total Calls - then the parts of the 50 are the data...

'm losing it in my old age I'm sure.

I am trying to create a simple pie chart and something is eluding me.

    I have 50 total Calls
    22 were left VM's
    18 were conversations
    11 Tasks were created
    1 Lead Passed

I want to show my team that when I spend a day of dialing for them, they can see the metrics of what came from that. Basically I'm calculating my call to closing ratios when I actually get someone on the phone.

    Does this make sense?

My pie chart isn't showing this. And I can't figure out how to make 50 calls the size of the chart and each thing underneath is a part of that whole.

    Thank you so much!!

    Take care,
    ~MissErin

A sample workbook, cleared of any sensitive data, would really help.

Check the yellow banner on top of this page for instructions on how to add one.

Attached is 2 days worth of what I'm trying to plot. I'll be submitting a daily one, but then if a cumulative run can be running along too that'd be awesome to learn.

I can see formulas and figure it out. I just think I'm missing something LOL. I knew how to do these at one point!

    Thank you and take care!!

First things first, you could just add labels to that and see how visible it is. I think pie goes better than bar chart for this kind of components of a total.

    See attached.

Aw thank you for this. This was the same pie chart I was able to create and edit labels to.

Where I am getting stuck is that the entire chart is the Number of Calls (50)
And of those 50, then the sample of what happened (22 LVM's, 18 Conversations, etc)

    Does that make better sense?

Thank you so much dear!! I really appreciate it!!

    Take care,
    ~Erin

Re: Create Pie Chart - 50 Total Calls - then the parts of the 50 are the data...

I think it makes better sense. I didn't notice the Total half of the pie last time dumb
Also noticed now that 50 is not total, actually 52 is total for Nov-5. Nov-10 is OK.

Anyway, to counter for my previously bad response, I made it seem a bit complicated now but more dynamic. What I mean is:
    - moved the Total Calls column to the end of the data - column F - and added a formula to it so it sums the rest of the values - no room for mistake
    - made a Table from your data that automatically expands when you add new data on the first empty row below it (a Table is created by selecting the range - eg. A1:F3 - and pressing CTRL+T)
    - made a Pivot having as source the Table created above. If you increase the data in the Table, you just have to refresh the Pivot. I also added the option for the Pivot to automatically refresh when you open the file.
    - made a date Slicer for that Pivot so you can interactively select the dates
    - made a chart based on that Pivot and now when you click in the Slicer, the chart changes automatically

I left all things visible in sheet Daily Calls, but also made a Dashboard sheet where there are only the Slicer and Chart, not showing the raw data from your table.

    I hope this helps.
