Set a goal that moves with pivot table slicers

    Hi,

I want to create pivot tables and a dashboard that displays a monthly goal, and which adjusts according to slicers set (month and year).

I have a 'Main data' tab which I records entries weekly.

I have a "Pivot tables' tab that analyses how tasks are progressing over the month.

What I want to be able to do, is set a monthly goal next to the pivot table data, and have values in my dashboard move with the slicers. I want 3 values that move with the slicers:

    1) tasks out this month
    2) monthly goal (manually set next to the pivot table tab data)
    3) a countdown that show have far off the goal I am

I have set up a mock spreadsheet to demonstrate what I am after (as best I can).

I am working off Excel 2010.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Set a goal that moves with pivot table slicers

The way the question is worded it sounds as if you will only select one month at a time so it would seem that all of the information needed will be in row 3 of the Pivot tables sheet.
    1. You only need one set of slicers as both sets of slicers currently used are connected to the pivot table on the Pivot tables sheet
    2. Paste the following into cell D3 (Pivot table sheet): =C3-B3
    3. Select Textbox3 (Dashboard sheet) and paste the following into the formula bar: ='Pivot tables'!B3
    4. Select Textbox4 (Dashboard sheet) and paste the following into the formula bar: ='Pivot tables'!C3
    5. Select Textbox5 (Dashboard sheet) and paste the following into the formula bar: ='Pivot tables'!D3
