copying 1 sheet with charts into another workbook, charts wont update w/o og workbook open

hello,

i have 15 workbooks that have multiple tabs in them (1 with data, 4 with charts, 1 chart 'dashboard'). i have copied the charts 'dashboard' worksheet from each of the 15 original workbooks into a 'master' workbook where i can see the overview for each of the 15 original workbooks in one workbook with multiple worksheets. the problem i am having is the 'master' workbook wont update without the original workbook being open. how can i solve this? i want to keep the charts linked to the original data sources and have them update.

I am not sure that this will work, but if you set up the charts in the original workbooks to use named ranges and then when you copy the chart to the master workbook, the named ranges might link back.

I am not going to take the time to set this up, but if you can include some sample workbooks, I would be willing to give it a shot.
