How to draw these pie charts?

Hi there, my table has repeated text values in the columns, as illustrated by the attached simplified version.

I'd like to draw two pie charts:

    1. The first chart is from the "Type" column, which will show X as 50%, Y as 10%, Z as 40%.

    2. The second chart is from the "Color" column when Type=X. So the chart will show Red as 60%, white as 40%.

Would you please shed some lights on how to accomplish that?

    Thanks a lot!

Charts don't analyze or summarize data for us, so the first step is to analyze the data in the spreadsheet, then we can create the chart.

Based on the example, I would say that a simple pivot table/chart would be the easiest way. https://www.excel-easy.com/data-****...ot-tables.html Select the source data and create a pivot table with:

    1) type and color as the row labels.
    2) count of type as the pivot table values.
    3) Select a cell in the pivot table and insert a pie chart.

To get chart #1, collapse the "type" fields in the row labels so they do not show color. To get chart #2, filter the row labels by type X.

Will a pivot table/chart work for you?
