Post Chart inserting random values on the x-axis

I have a data set of customer orders and the date they were made, seems straightforward though when I try to plot these on a chart it doesn't make any sense (attached). Im trying to get it to show me the date on the x-axis and the total values of orders for that day on the y-axis? I feel like this should be simple ? Thanks in advance... and apologies in advance if I'm being an idiot.

Since you have multiple items for some days, you'll need to aggregate the data first - eg using a pivot table, - then chart that instead.
