    Help with Charting

I am looking to make my excel spreadsheets into charts that I can overlay to see different correlations. I want to be able to easily change the date or other information. I am not sure if there is a way to do this easily or not. What I am envisioning in my head in transparencies that I can lay down over the top of each other but that I can change in real-time. If this doesn't make sense, I can try to explain it better.

I have also added an attachment with some dummy data to help understand what I am looking to chart. If more data is needed, I can put more in.

    Re: Help with Charting

After a day, I will venture some comments. We might need a better idea of what kinds of charts you want to show (your sample file doesn't include any charts) and how you want to interact with the spreadsheet.

I notice that there are 3 separate tabs, but they seem related. I wonder if there would be value in combining all of the data into a single database. Sometimes, it is better to have all the data in a single source database because that makes it easier to extract subsets of the data, filter by different criteria, and summarize data using pivot tables and similar tools.

Overlaying charts is usually a bit difficult to do with any precision. I would usually look at figuring out how to combine data into single, combination charts. But, this depends to some extent on exactly what kind of charts you want to create and how you want to interact with those charts.

I apologize for not having anything more helpful than that, but I think we need a better idea of what you have and what you want before we can speak to more specific solutions.

    Re: Help with Charting

Sorry. I get confused very easily. I didn't include charts because I wasn't sure the best way to put them in. I am thinking line graphs would be the easiest way to graph the information. I am not 100% sure by what you mean by how I want to interact with the spreadsheet. Basically, I am just looking for is a way that I can sit down with my doctor and show him a graph with all the information but want to be able to easily switch any data point (date range, data shown, etc.)

I did three separate spreadsheets because it was easier for me to follow than having all of that data in one big spreadsheet. As I said above, I get confused very easily. If someone has a way that it would be easy to follow then I am willing to listen. I just need things to be as easy to follow as possible. I used to be really good with computers but have recently gone downhill significantly.

I hope that this helps. I am sorry if I am not more clear.
