    Chart elements no longer appear (suspected attributes changed with version?)

    I'm running a sheet I've had for several years. It's on Excel 2019 now, but it was created back in 2016.

    For some reason I cannot figure out why the line graphs on my charts don't produce and points or connecting lines. It's a swim meet stat sheet that shows event times for some friend's swimmers to see how a swim stroke's time has changed week by week.

    has anyone heard of default chart settings changed across excel versions?

    I don't believe there has been a default change.

    It's impossible to tell what the issue might be without example file.

    Check axes setting are not fixed and data is beyond scale ranges.
    Check how hidden/empty cells are being handled, via the select data dialog.
