    Search Field in Filter Window

I have been trying for months to figure out how to do this so I'm finally using the hive mind here. I've got a Pivot table that has a filter for row labels that uses names we enter in. Problem we run into is that if we misspell the name it stays there forever, and additionally if the name is no longer needed on the Pivot table we can't removed it from this list, simple adjust the filter to not include it. Is there a way to clear this history of names that are either no longer on the data sheet or no longer will be entered onto the data sheet? I've tried recreating the pivot table, I've made sure the misspellings are no longer on the source page so they shouldn't be pulling up I wouldn't think. I've also tried clearing and completely recreating the sheet and it still pulls up the same names on the filter list that we have to sort through and take off the filter to make the pivot table report accurately.

It seems as if the Refresh All option of the Analyze sub tab of the PivotTable Tools tab should get rid of names that are not in the source data.
Assuming the above doesn't work it sounds like a problem with the pivot table cache.
You might experiment with clearing the pivot table cache on a COPY of your file that also produces the same issue.
Instructions for clearing the cache start at the 1:02 mark of the linked tutorial video.

Best of luck and I hope that you have a blessed day.
