Using a Pivot Table to Analyze Frequency Distrubution

I'm trying to figure out how to use a pivot table to generate a list of frequency distributions. This seems so simple but I can't figure it out. I'm analyzing eye disease data. Each row is a patient. There are columns of disease pathology. For each patient, there's one or more diseases.

I then want to show how many times each disease mentioned shows up in the data. I attached a sample file. Of course I can do this with countif() but can it be done with a pivot table? The disease data is dynamic. To do this with countif(), I'd always have to have the list of unique diseases. Attached is a simplified file. The actual one has over 50,000 rows and a lot more diseases.

Thanks! I was thinking about doing this in a PowerQuery but thougth that it was possible in a Pivot. I guess not.
