Have chart skip LTM data if same as Year End data

I'm doing financial modeling and want to create a chart that shows annual and Last Twelve Month (LTM) data but only if the LTM is different from the most recent year end. For example, if a Company's fiscal year end is 12/31/2021, but their most recent quarter is 3/31/2022, I would want to pull in both the last year end and the LTM as of 3/31/2022. But if it is February and the the LTM and last year end are the same, 12/31/2022, I would essentially be duplicating data in my chart, which I would like to avoid.

I can do If then statements to manipulate the cells to be blank etc. but I haven't found a good way for the chart to skip and scale appropriately. If I have it skip blanks, it wont show the data but I have an obvious blank space at the end of my chart. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Have chart skip LTM data if same as Year End data

I've uploaded an example but dont know how more informative it will be. Essentually I'm looking for an if/then argument for chart selection. If the date of the LTM is the same as the date for the last annual year, then I dont want the chart to select that data, if it is different then I want it included. Its more of a chart formatting issue, how do I get the chart to adjust to having a blank cell and blank date.

Yoou already have some named ranges in the file. See (Ctrl+F3) how I defined 3 more names:
    last_date_different
    dates_for_graph
    values_for_graph

the last two were used (instead of simple ranges like C10:F10) in series definition.

Try changing F10 to the same value as E10.

You can read more about such apprach searching "excel dynamic graph"
