    Donut chart with Target

I needed to make a Donut chart exactly like the one in the picture, but with the target, in red, outside.

I didn't want the solution to go through making two graphics and then superimposing them, that is, I wanted the same as the image with the target on the outside.

    Is this possible?

    Re: Donut chart with Target

    You need 4 series.
2 on each of the Primary and Secondary axes.

One set provide the value and pad to show progress and target.
The other set provide the borders for the segments

    Hi Andy

Thank you very much for your prompt reply

I can't understand how your graph works, so I've attached the graph that I can make but with Target inside.

Not talking about the graph construction part, as you can see, I can set the TARGET value and what varies is the CURRENT value.

What I wanted was for it to work the same but for TARGET to be outside. I do not know if i was clear.

    Thanks again

    Re: Donut chart with Target

I don't understand what you do not understand.

Your chart is made in the same way. I used 4 series so I could use the same donut size for both primary and secondary axis.

The only other difference is I used values between 0-20 and you data is a percentage.
As long as you change both the value and target values to percent it will work.

If you still need help try creating the graphic you are expecting using shapes

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get your chart to work this way.

    Thanks again

    Re: Donut chart with Target

That is how my example chart looks.

As I explained before the chart is made of 4 series with 2 on each of the Primary and seconday axis.
The target series is the same as your chart. Made up of 3 values which position the middle sections at the correct point.
The value series is again like yours, with 2 values being plotted.

The other 2 series are used to draw the 20 segments and a completely empty series to position the segments at the same layer as the Value series.

    Re: Donut chart with Target

    Hi Andy

Thank you very much, as I said, it was my problem....

What happened is that you linked the ValueRing to the TargetValue, so whenever I changed the TargetValue, the ValueRing was the same and the light blue followed that value.

I already understood how it works and redid the chart according to my needs.

Just one more small question, is it possible that the width, the size of the Target is different from the size of the ValueRing, I'm not talking about the thickness, since this value is possible to vary?

    Thank you so much again

    Re: Donut chart with Target

To vary the target height you would need to add more rings to the plot. This will allow you to blank out the target rings and still retain the thickness of the value ring.
