Creating a chart from a non-standard data layout

    Screenshot 2022-04-07 132442.png

The picture itself makes sense as a process, but not chart-wise unless you filter by location. I've attached the actual spreadsheet. View that, and filter by location (col J) then the chart will also make sense.

    The problem :
The data comes to me as in location 1. I wish to chart it like at location 3.
But I first have to re-structure it as shown in location 2 before I can chart it like at location 3.
This is mainly due to the dates (2/3, 2/10, 2/17) not being included on the same row as the corresponding numbers in location 1.

Is there a way, aside from elaborate macros, to move from location 1 directly to location 3 without the intermediary re-structuring?

    Thank you.

I can't comment on whether or not you can create (3) without (2) however, if using O365 (per profile) you could create (2) using a single-cell dynamic array - i.e. clear J11:N25 in your file and then enter below into J11

    Hi,

Sorry about this delayed response. I get so sidetracked and pulled in for other projects, I've not had time to re-visit this problem. I still have the problem and this looks like a most elegant solution. Quick question: "DATA" in your formula is the table-range I list in Location 1?

Re: Creating a chart from a non-standard data layout

Although I don't have the 365 version and therefore can't test the LET function, I looked at the MS help and "data" seems to be the defined name and "A3:D30" is the name value.
So I believe that the answer to your quick question is yes.
    I hope that is helpful.
