    Excel chart with data ranges

    Hi there,

I am trying to chart the following: I have eight different scenarios, and within each scenario there is an upper and lower bound in which total cost can lie.

I want to chart the scenarios so on the X-axis we have 8 scenarios. I want "cost" up the Y-axis, and i want each scenario to have a point for upper and lower bound with a line connecting the two - akin to a box and whisker plot.

I am finding this very hard to plot. I have settled on plotting a marked line chart, with the upper and lower bound as separate lines, and inserting lines in between the points manually. There must be an easier way? Would appreciate any help. Attached Chart.png is what i have so far (axes removed for privacy).

    Would appreciate any help! Cheers

Re: Excel chart with data ranges

    Welcome to the forum.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    Administrative Note:

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the version (NOT a release number like 2008) of Office (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this. Thanks.

Have you tried using up-down bars in your chart? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...4-447562a22260
