How to round up/down the numbers of the horizontal labels of a chart?

    Hi all,

I know it sounds like a silly question but I can't seem to find a solution to it as I search through the different options and functions in the excel file. Can charts have different labels than the actually cells I quote? Or how can I make the numbers round up or down? As seen in the attached picture, the horizontal labels should be the numbers in millions, but I can't have them as exact numbers as they are too long. I can't quite find a setting that round the numbers into 3mil, 2.8mil, 2.5mil... and so on. Would anyone care to share their experience? The chart is a simple Line with Markers.

    Thanks!

Add the underlaying data in an excel file and post it on the excel forum.

Then forummembers are able to test the offered solutions.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Please see the attached excel sheet that contains the problem I asked. There are some cells I left blank so that you can try with whatever numbers you wish to!
    Thanks!

You could just change the axis number format code to something like:

    #,##0.0,,"m"

    Hi Rorya,

Is there somewhere I can change that after right-clicking the axis and clicking "Format axis"? I don't seem to find it. Would you mind showing it to me? Thanks!

The dialog appearance may be different in your version, but in 2016 it looks like the attached picture.

Thanks Rorya, it works! Would you also mind explaining the logic behind the codes? I can see whatever we type inside the " " will be texts behind the numbers. But what about the # and , before that?
