Pivot Table - changing data display back to default

My data set is as follows...

    Adam Smith
    Adam Smith
    Adam Smith
    John Doe
    John Doe
    John Doe
    Jane Cooper
    Jane Cooper
    Jane Cooper
    ----------------------------

A standard Pivot Table will return

    Adam Smith
    John Doe
    Jane Cooper
    ----------------------------

By editing within the pivot table, I can have the pivot table take the data "Jane Cooper" and show the data "Jane CooperXX". I did this by accident. Now my pivot table takes the data as above, and shows me this

    Adam Smith
    John Doe
    Jane CooperXX
    ----------------------------

    ARG.

How do I change the Pivot table result from "Jane CooperXX" back to "Jane Cooper"?

I've tired to go in to the table and edit "Jane CooperXX" back to "Jane Cooper" but it won't let me proceed. I can change "Jane CooperXX" to "Jane CooperXXX", but this doesn't help.

Where does a table store this info? What is this function called? How do I go back to default?

    Thanks all,

    cg

First try changing the data in the source data and refresh the pivot table. This should work, but sometimes Excel pivot tables get stuck with old data. If so, put this in a module in the workbook:

    and run it.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
