Do Pivot Chart Slicers use connections?

I have a file with a Query, pivot tables, pivot charts and slicers.

I am wondering if Slicers actually use connections, as I can see more connections than just the query.

The reason I am asking is because I want to add VBA to remove query from the file to make it easier for sharing.

But wannna be careful about removing all connections if pivot charts or slicers utilise connections, as they would stop working.

Slicers work with pivot charts and tables whether the workbook has a connection or not. So removing the connection should not affect them.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
