    Box and whiskers plot

I am working with office 365 and when doing the box and whiskers plot for the dataset I am working with, which is 100 run for multiple categories each. excel does not show the series/categories on the x-axis but the legend is correct. Book1.xlsx

    Re: Box and whiskers plot

You have not included row 3 in the data selection.

Use the Select Data dialog to specify the Category labels

I can not see the image.

if the rows are series and the columns categories your data only has a single data point for each intersection.
Can you explain how you think the chart should look with the data you have?

    Re: Box and whiskers plot

    Good morning,

so the rows have the "category" and the values for the respective categories from a 1000 run (Monte Carlo analysis).

now i want the categories to be on the x-axis and the statistical values (SD, mean, median, quartiles, max and min) plotted on the y-axis in a box and whiskers plot.

I am not sure if you could open teh excel file i attached. but there you see that the categories are already correctly grouped and teh legend is correct and the right values was assigned to the right category but on
the x-axis it just grouped them all under "1" not the respective category. Hope I could explain it well.

    Re: Box and whiskers plot

The chart automatically groups the Run numbers, but yours are all unique.

See the attached file. If you change the number in the yellow cell you will see the grouping on the x-axis increase.
But the more unique items you get the less box/whisker you get.

Here is the MS page on the chart
