Bar Chart with Variable height and width for bars

Hi-

I'm trying to create a horizontal bar chart that allows for the height of each bar to have a variable, as well as the width. It's difficult to describe without links to examples, but I need the bar itself to have a height based on total dollar value and the width will be a length of time. I'd like to stack a few of these bars to show payments over time.

I found another forum explaining a very roundabout way to do so but only allows vertical columns, rather than bar charts (because it's based on a 2d area graph).

I'd welcome any input!
