Line Chart with fixed Min and Max (blood sugar levels)

    Hello everyone,

I'm creating an Excel sheet with blood sugar levels to show in a line chart.

By watching the tutorial by Leila Gharan about showing the Min and Max in the Chart it gives me a start, but what I really need is a fixed Min and Max.
So I would like to have the numbers in the chart turn red if they are <4, green between 4-10, and red by >10.
Ofcourse I can set the conditional format in the data column, but I would like to see the red/green in the chart as well.

    How can I do this?

    Thank you,
    Yolanda, NL

This is the standard first suggestion for conditional formatting chart information: https://peltiertech.com/conditional-...-excel-charts/

Thanks for the link mr. Shorty! This article is a little overwhelming for me, and I don't see simple steps to create what I need.
I also can't find any 'simple' video tutorials yet.
Are you aware of any online templates I could use?
    Thank you!

    Welcome to the forum.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook (yellow banner: HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK). Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. The sample layout accurately matches that of your real data. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

Hello Ali, thank you for your message.
Is it required to upload my workbook as I have created it so far?

This is what I have asked you to do. It assists your helpers if they can see your data and its layout. Make sure you follow the instructions: desensitise it and add expected results (could be a hand-drawn image in your case).

Sorry I am late getting back to this.

Without some idea of where you are getting stuck, it is difficult to make any suggestion. It would probably help to upload a sample file with your starting data and any attempts you have made to follow Peltier's tutorial.

I find that a lot of charting questions in Excel end up being more about arranging the data in the spreadsheet, and this scenario is a good example of that. Notice that Peltier starts with the data in two columns (just as I would guess you have). Then he adds several helper columns with a formula like =IF("column B is between values in rows 1 and 2",value in B,NA()). These helper columns are then used to create the chart, where each column becomes its own data series that can be formatted however you would like.

I've fixed it already by adding just a simple straight horizontal line in the graph itself.
So for now I'm ok, thanks!

P.s. the attached file is no longer valid, right after uploading the file, my friend gave me the solution.

I just added a simple red and green line in the graph itself (copy/paste from Powerpoint to get it straight). I also added conditional formatting in the column.
