How to extend a line in a combo chart across the entire graph?

    Hello all,

Let say I have the following dataset, and I want to use passing score of 120 as the benchmark for everyone.

    Name Maths Biology Passing Score
    Abby 55 90 120
    Brendan 58 70 120
    Charlie 40 59 120

I use the Combo chart and go the following graph and I get this graph

I want to extend the benchmark line all the way from y-axis to the other end of the graph. I tried to find the solution online but couldn't find a to do it.

The closest thing I have found is right click on the x-axis label and right click and then format axis.
Then in the Axis options, under Axis position, click on "On tick marks", however that move the first column bar to the y-axis as well, which cuts off that bar into half and does not extend the line on the other end.

How can I adjust the graph so that benchmark line fits the entire graph without changing the position of the column bars.

There are a few ways to do this.

    Dummy series on secondary axis
    Formatting of horizontal axis

    Both are detailedin the attached

    Future note to myself...

Use only the second method as the first method is not automated...

Note that the benchmark line must be on secondary axis in the "change chart type" option, chart must be of custom combo type, otherwise the add secondary axis option under "Add Chart Element" will not exist.

    also

    1. Either delete the secondary y-axis suggested if you don't want the secondary y-axis or set secondary y-axis max value to the same as primary y-axis.
    2. change the font size of the secondary x-axis to 1 and colour to match the background to make it disappear.
    3. set axis option > line to "No line" if graph have a dark background.

also note to myself only ... The insert image button of this forum does not work... use Attachment button...
