how to use two worksheets for one chart

I am not sure how to go about using two worksheets for one chart. I have tried using the wizard and it tells me that the reference is invalid. Here is what I have so far ='Averages - 04'!&b&46:&cw&46+'Averages - 05'!&b&46:&d&46. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

In Chart Wizard - Step 2 of 4 - Chart Source Data, click Series at the top, then click Add. For Values:, enter =Sheet1!$B$46:$CW$46. Click Add again. For Values:, enter ='[Averages - 05.xls]Sheet1'!$B$46:$D$46.

Note: This is assuming you want to create the chart in Averages - 04, and that the data is on Sheet1 on both worksheets.
