How to merge columns in bar chart

    Hallo forum,

I'm new here and hope to find somebody who can help me with my problem:

I have a pattern, which I want to display with a bar chart:

For example: I have a number 5 high bar (y-axis) which should be drawn with the width from 0 to 1 (x-axis). Afterwards I want to add another bar from 6 (y-axis), but this time from 1 to 2 (x-axis) and so on...The bars should be drawn in the same colour and they should be connected to each other (no space between them). Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do this (couldn't find an example on the internet)

    best regards,

    Jonas

not sure if you are trying to describe a waterfall chart or a variable width column chart.

Post a workbook example with the chart constructed using shapes so we can see what you are trying to create.

Untitled.png I would like to do a bar chart as in this picture. However, I have some different values, as one can see in the attached example file.

My problem is that I cant do a bar from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 2. In the end, my number (for example 1) is always in the middle of the bar

Add a dummy series to the chart with a extra data point.
Move to the secondary axis and set the cateory labels to A1:A25, note the added 24 label.

Format secondary horizontal axis to cross between ticks.
Format secondary vertical axis to be in reverse, moving the data labels to bottom.

set formatting of both primary horizontal and secondary vertical to remove lines, ticks and labesl.
