generating plot based on xstart xstop values

help please; i've created a spreadsheet that generates start, stop times, (x1, x2) and the data value (Y). now i'd like to plot. ie
    point 1 start 0, finish 3; value 5
    point 2 start 1, finish 5, value 2

so that at 0 the value is 5, at 2 the value will be 7 (point 1 value plus point 2 value), at 4 the value is 2

ideas on how to use excel formulas to accomplish; or VBA routines i could download ??

    thanks

    Hi Frank,

I didn't understand the problem atall. Can you send me the spreadsheet you with the data generated, and a clear description of the problem. I am not sure if the problem is clear to anyone or not, but for me, I am unable to understand the requirement. Can you please describe with a little more details?
    Thanks!
