    Can Excel make this chart?

I'd like to replicate a chart I saw in a book using a different data set. Here's what it looks like:

I'm somewhat of a novice with Excel, and don't know how to build such a chart. I started with a bar chart, and then mapped one of the columns to a secondary axis. However, that doesn't work because it doesn't put the "0" value in the middle as in the chart above.

So, there are two variables/columns: 1) percentage of calories from saturated fat, and 2) deaths from heart disease/100,000/year. Then there are several rows of countries.

    I'd appreciate your help!

    hi,

I think you are on the right track, try right clicking on the x axis, choose Format Axis, Scale and change the "minimum value" as needed & the "category x value crosses at" to zero.

If this doesn't help, Jon Peltier's website is likely to have a good explanation for what you want, it's just a case of finding it - goodluck!
